I woke up before dawn at my campsite in Craters of the Moon National Monument near Arco, Idaho, and it was snowing lightly. I immediately thought that the white dusting would dress up the dark lava beds nicely, so I drove to the nearest turnout on the loop road, grabbed my tripod and camera gear and wandered around the area. This was the last scene I shot at sunrise.
