Glacier Goat

On Hidden Lake Trail, returning to the Logan Pass Visitors Center in Glacier National Park, rather hastily due to an impending storm, I suddenly noticed this lone mountain goat emerge from the trees and trudge across the grassland.  I didn’t have time to set up my tripod, knowing the goat would leave the scene within seconds, but the fast lens allowed a hand-held shot even in this low light.  It’s a favorite goat shot, suggesting resigned loneliness and determination in this rugged environment.
