At Upper Cathedral Valley Overlook in Capitol Reef National Park in Utah, the overcast afternoon provided a nice, even, low-contrast light that saturated the green juniper in the foreground, a refreshing relief from the forbidding desert cliffs around it.  Breaks in the clouds allowed the sunset to highlight the spires in Cathedral Valley below.  It’s one of my favorite places to meditate on the beauty and solitude of wilderness.
